有硫化氢气味。具潮解性。见光和在空气中变成黄到棕黑色,并逐渐产生硫化氢,生成碳酸盐及多硫化物,易溶于水,遇酸甚至碳酸也能分解,微溶于乙醇,不溶于乙醚。水溶液呈碱性,溶液露置在空气中逐渐成为硫化硫酸钠和氢氧化钠。易燃。有腐蚀性。 应用于表面官能化硫化镉量子点的形成。
