强碱性，易溶于水及甲醇，微溶于乙醇，不溶于丙酮。从空气中吸收二氧化碳变成碳酸盐后，则不能完全溶于水。在硫酸干燥器中能失去7分子结晶水，约在780℃失去全部结晶水。测定空气中的二氧化碳，精制糖及动物油，锅炉用水清洗剂。 |
